Australia: The Great Southern Land

From our Indigenous heritage, to our present multicultural society. Discover the events, characters, and Dreaming stories that have shaped the identity of who we are today. The live performance runs 6 times a day and is a narrative of stories, song and dance in full period costume.

Performances are accompanied by the latest multimedia software and hardware, which project related images onto 3 screens. Furthermore, investments in Acoustiguide’s patented translation software allow International visitors to experience the live performances and the movie into 1 of 8 programmable languages. Total running time is around 25 minutes

Movie

Banggarai

Sharing the theatre, is Waradah's exclusive movie, Banggarai. Produced by Waradah and filmed in the Blue Mountains, Banggarai is a coming of age tale of a young Indigenous man at the cusp of white settlers entering the mountains. Total running time is around 17 minutes.

In addition to the theatre, visitors to the Centre also get to experience an introduction to the enduring, vivid examples of Aboriginal art. Waradah's gallery depicts paintings that illustrate the rich and colourful styles from the Central and Western Desert areas, while informal discussions and lectures let you learn about the culture and traditional ways of the Aboriginal people.

Across from the gallery, the retail store offers a unique selection of artefacts and merchandise produced by Aboriginal craftsmen.
