In 1902, Kurrara opened it's doors as a popular Blue Mountains guest house, for Sydney city folk, who boarded the trains for Katoomba, to enjoy the healthy climate and take in the fresh mountain air.
Under the watchful eye of the proprietress Mrs. A.F. Wilkins, Kurrara was run with a bustling air of efficiency!
Today, guests can choose from three luxurious downstairs spa suites with 4-poster beds, or 5 upstairs rooms, all with shower en suites. All our guest rooms have new eco beds, and are well appointed, having been recently refurbished.
"Kurrara is a beautiful heritage house filled with antiques and sumptuous textiles in keeping with the Victorian era, yet it has retained it's homely feel."
"Guests love our selection of 40 different types of tea, coffee, cake and cookies, and are often found relaxing in our big comfy leather chesterfields, enjoying conversation with new and old friends, or reading a book from our eclectic library."
Located on a quiet corner and surrounded by mature gardens. It is mid-way between Katoomba Town Centre and Echo Point, and within walking distance to Leura Cascades and popular bushwalks.
We invite you to experience part of Katoomba's living history, and come and stay with us.
